Job summary

WMFHA in Michigan seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure reliable operation of plant machinery. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot issues and support equipment installation and upgrades.

Responsibilities include documenting work orders, complying with safety policies, and applying technical knowledge across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems. Five years of experience in stamping press maintenance is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with formal technical training in industrial maintenance.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.
  • Experience in stamping press industry; press repair preferred.
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting, electronic testing, pipefitting, welding, PLCs, CNC, laser equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyors and production machines.
  • Troubleshoot malfunctions and repair equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Install new equipment per specifications and ensure proper operation.
  • Document work orders and maintenance logs accurately.
  • Adhere to safety policies and keep workspace clean and safe.
  • Assist with tool and die development and production prototyping.

Job description

Brief Description

The Maintenance Technician will ensure efficient and dependable operation of machinery and equipment. Troubleshoots repairs and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment, machines, systems and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Improves and modifies equipment and systems to optimize production efficiency, productivity and quality.
  • Assists with Tool and die development and run off - plumbing and pipefitting production and prototype dies.
  • Installs new equipment to specifications as directed.
  • Ensures operation of repaired or new equipment by using customer requirements, manufacturer's instructions and technical knowledge.
  • Documents actions by completing work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Understands and actively complies with all safety requirements and policies and practices. Maintains safe and clean working environment.

Education and Professional Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required and formal technical training and/or experience in industrial/equipment maintenance
  • At least five (5+) years of maintenance experience required
  • Press repair and hydraulic troubleshooting experience preferred
  • Experience in the stamping press industry
  • Experience should include: troubleshooting, electronic testing, problem solving, production repairs, equipment maintenance and installation, pipefitting, welding, PLC’s, CNC benders, Laser equipment, automated welding equipment, fabrication and machine shop equipment use
  • High level of aptitude in a broad range of maintenance fields with a working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical and electronic systems

  • Fluent in English with advanced reading and writing skills
  • German Language skills would be a plus
  • Visa holders/English as Second Language (ESL) individuals must take TOEFL exam and score above passing grade.
