Position: Maintenance Technician
Scope of Responsibilities
- Assist in completing make‑ready units to Chamberlin standards and maintain an adequate supply of make‑ready units for the community.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and correct minor air conditioning and/or heating failures, appliance repairs, plumbing problems, painting, minor carpentry, and drywall repairs.
- Address resident service and maintenance requests in a timely manner.
- Perform necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on vacant units as they become available.
- Perform daily pool care, ensuring the pool is in proper chemical balance and the area is free of safety concerns.
- Re‑key locks and cut keys.
- Inspect the property for safety hazards that may pose a liability and correct the hazard; inform the Manager of Facilities and Service of the hazard.
- Keep the property clean and in working order: remove weeds, rake rocks, remove trash, clear sidewalks, periodically power wash, and maintain community areas.
- Share on‑call duty with service team members and be readily available to go the property if needed, in uniform.
- Assist in monitoring inventory of materials, parts and supplies.
- Maintain accurate records regarding preventive maintenance, service requests, expenditures, apartment make‑ready status and work in progress.
Requirements
- General knowledge in plumbing, electrical, pool maintenance, HVAC, carpentry, landscape maintenance, appliances, and OSHA‑related standards.
- Knowledge of building systems.
- Service orientation.
- Basic computer skills.
- Experience as an apartment turn technician, make‑ready technician, or work order technician highly desirable.
- HVAC and CPO certification preferred.
- Bilingual or English speaking.
Work Hours
- 40 hours a week, Monday‑Friday during property business hours.
- Evenings and weekends may be required as circumstances warrant.
Compensation
Pay: $24 - $26
Background Check
All employment offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a standard background check, which reviews records for the past seven (7) years, in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.
