Job summary

Amrize North America Inc. is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to maintain plant equipment and conduct inspections to ensure readiness.

You will diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of mechanical systems and machinery while regularly working overtime. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least two years’ experience in mechanical repair in heavy industry, with knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in mechanical repair, installation, and construction in heavy industry.
• Working knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude and plant maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment following manufacturer intervals and company procedures.
• Inspects equipment condition and operation and reports repairs to Supervisor.
• Performs emergency repairs to address plant breakdowns.
• Adheres to safety, environmental, and company policies; completes required paperwork timely.
• Routinely walks the plant to inspect equipment and parts needing repair or replacement.
• Maintains crushers, conveyor belts, pulleys, pumps, screens and screen bearings.
• Conducts job safety analysis before diagnosis or repair to identify hazards.
• Promotes safety culture and adherence to PPE requirements.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining plant equipment in a state of readiness.Performs the appropriate plant production equipment inspections and preventative maintenance. Prepares allrequired daily/weekly department operating reports. This position will be responsible for the diagnosis, repairand maintenance of a wide variety of fixed mechanical equipment, systems and machinery. This person willregularly work overtime.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

• Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on plant equipment by following the manufacture’srecommended service intervals and company procedures. Maintains an inventory of regularly requiredreplacement parts.
• Inspects condition and operation of plant equipment and performs necessary repairs and adjustments.Reports required repairs or other findings to Supervisor.
• Performs required emergency repairs on production equipment required to address plant breakdowns.
• Adheres to all safety, environmental and company policies and procedures in completing daily tasks, andcompletes all required paperwork in a timely fashion.
• Routinely walk the plant to inspect mechanical equipment and parts and systems in need of repair orreplacement.
• Maintain crushers, conveyor belts, pulleys, pumps, screens and screen bearings.
• Prior to undertaking any diagnosis or repair, conduct a job safety analysis to identify and isolate any hazards such as energy (lock-out, tag-out), working at heights, confined spaces, etc.
• Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Required Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in mechanical repair, installation,and construction in heavy industry.

Additional Requirements:

• Must have a working knowledge of basic mechanical aptitude, general plant maintenance experience. Changing screens, welding, cutting torch, wrenching (hand tools).
• Operating a skid steer, man lift is a plus.
• Proficient in hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems.
• Welding/fabrication skills highly desirable.
• Ability to work overtime
• Basic computer skills
• Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
