Job summary

Sierra Pacific Industries in Merrill, WI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility. The role includes troubleshooting, electrical work, welding, and fabrication across pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications

• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs.
• Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings.
• Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment.
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects.
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility.
• Troubleshoot, install, replace, and repair machines and equipment including mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Assist with Motion Control, PLC, MMI, and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and repair; install electrical components such as conduit, wiring, motor controls, starters, VFD, and soft starts.
• Dismantle machinery and equipment, locate causes of malfunctioning or mechanical breakdown, replace parts from stock or fabricate replacements as needed.
• Fabricate machine components for repairs and improvements of mechanical devices.
• Conduct diagnostic tests to ensure optimum system functionality.
• Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation.
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift.
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed.
• Rig, lift, and move heavy equipment.
• Perform general maintenance safely and keep the work area clean.
• Work may include various shifts and overtime.

About The Position

• Run Maintain and repair all mechanical parts and machinery in a manufacturing facility

• Assemble, install, and proactively maintain mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment for efficient operation
• Operate arc welder, cutting torch, hand tools, and forklift
• Fabricate, weld, mill, and lathe as needed
• Rig, lift, and move heavy equipment
• Perform general maintenance in a safe and efficient manner and maintain a clean work area
• Work may consist of various shifts and overtime including weekends and holidays during busy production times

Qualifications

• 2 years recent verifiable related work history or equivalent education
• Proficient in welding, cutting, and using hand tools for repairs
• Experience using motor control circuits, 480 volt 3-phase AC/DC motors, starters, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Working knowledge of pneumatics, pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and bearings
• Proven experience using forklift, man lift, and most rigging equipment
• Ability to recognize, report, and repair mechanical defects
• Industrial mill maintenance experience is a plus
