Qualifications

Job description

Primary Functions:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the manual execution of the installation, repair, and preventative maintenance of all production equipment, including CAPS and APS Plasma Spray Machines used for titanium and hydroxyapatite coatings. The role involves performing hands-on troubleshooting and repairs for mechanical, electrical, PLC, and hydraulic issues, under the guidance of the Maintenance Engineer, to ensure continuous and efficient operation of manufacturing processes.

Major Responsibilities:

Preventative Maintenance & Repairs:

  1. Perform scheduled maintenance on CAPS and APS Plasma Spray Machines, following plans developed by the Maintenance Engineer.
  2. Assist in maintaining and repairing ancillary equipment such as automatic blasting machines, compressors, dust collectors, HVAC, and other facility-related systems.
  3. Follow all necessary OSHA, EPA, GMP, and ISO compliance protocols during maintenance tasks.

Mechanical Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

  1. Assist in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues in components such as robotic arms, linear guides, bearings, and rotary turntables.
  2. Perform inspections, lubrication, and alignment adjustments for gearboxes, spindles, and other mechanical elements.
  3. Manually replace worn-out components like belts, seals, and bearings to prevent downtime.

Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems:

  1. Perform inspections, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic components, including pumps, valves, actuators, and pressure regulators.
  2. Manually adjust and maintain compressed air systems for plasma spray operations.
  3. Assist in identifying and resolving leaks, pressure inconsistencies, and flow restrictions in hydraulic lines.

Plasma Spray Equipment Maintenance:

  1. Assist with inspecting and calibrating plasma torches, nozzles, powder feeders, and cooling systems.
  2. Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure proper functioning of gas flow systems and plasma spray parameters.
  3. Manually adjust and inspect coating quality to ensure optimal performance.

General Maintenance & Facility Support:

  1. Perform general facility maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and minor repairs.
  2. Maintain a clean and organized maintenance area, ensuring tools and spare parts are properly stored and documented.
  3. Provide emergency breakdown support to minimize production downtime.

Documentation & Reporting:

  1. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  2. Assist in developing and following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance tasks.
  3. Communicate regularly with the Operation Manager, production teams, and management regarding machine status and interventions.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education & Experience:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance is a plus.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably with plasma spray coating equipment.

Technical Skills:

  1. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  2. Ability to read and follow technical manuals and electrical schematics.
  3. Hands-on experience with troubleshooting and manual repairs of industrial control systems.
