Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Facilities & Maintenance Technician to support daily operations across office, production, and shipping areas. The role involves repairs, coordination with external contractors, and pre-safety startup checks for new machines in a GMP/SQF/FDA-regulated environment.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical/electrical/pneumatic systems, implementing preventive maintenance, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• 3+ years in a facility/manufacturing environment.
• Proven troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic systems.
• Experience coordinating with external contractors/vendors.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
• Experience with OSHA requirements and safety committees.
• Experience managing regulatory inspections and facility compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs, replacements, and routine maintenance on machines, equipment, and facility systems to support daily operations in office, production, and shipping and receiving areas.
• Coordinate and schedule repairs and maintenance with external contractors and vendors when specialized or third-party services are required.
• Conduct pre-safety startup checks and validations on new machines and equipment to ensure they meet operational and safety requirements before use.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility-related issues to quickly identify root causes and restore equipment to proper working condition.
• Execute preventive maintenance programs to reduce downtime, extend equipment life, and maintain consistent performance.
• Support and participate in OSHA and safety committee activities to promote a safe working environment and adherence to safety policies.
• Manage or assist with regulatory inspections and facility compliance activities to ensure alignment with applicable standards and guidelines.
• Utilize a CMMS or maintenance tracking system to document work orders, track maintenance history, and plan future maintenance activities.
• Collaborate closely with production and other departments to minimize disruption during maintenance activities and to prioritize critical tasks.
• Work within a GMP, SQF, FDA-regulated manufacturing environment, following established procedures and documentation requirements.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience.
• At least three years of maintenance experience in a facility or manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and facility systems.
• Experience working with outside contractors and vendors for repairs and maintenance services.
• Experience performing preventive maintenance programs on production and facility equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; food, flavor, chemical, or pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred.
• 7–10+ years of maintenance and facilities experience within manufacturing strongly preferred.
• Experience with OSHA requirements and participation in safety committee activities.
• Experience managing regulatory inspections and facility compliance activities.
