Job summary

Schulte Hospitality Group is seeking an energetic Maintenance Engineer to join our team at Bluemont Hotel. This role involves overseeing grounds, public areas and guest rooms, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to work orders with urgency.

The ideal candidate has HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge, plus 2+ years in hotel maintenance, with strong communication and math skills. Competitive benefits and a supportive growth environment await.

Qualifications

• HVAC, plumbing, electrical and carpentry knowledge expected.
• Minimum of three (2) years in hotel maintenance or similar setting.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance orders and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms.
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain spare parts and bulbs.
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner.
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner.
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees the property grounds, public areas and hotel guest rooms
• Conducts preventative maintenance to prevent breakdowns in hotel accommodations
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs
• Responds to maintenance orders in a timely manner
• Fulfills work orders in a timely manner
• Completed daily rounds, identifying and reporting problems
• Perform various other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of three (2) years in a hotel maintenance position preferred
• Preferred but not necessary, one (1) year of college or trade school equivalent in a mechanical, electrical, and/or technical disciplines
• In-depth knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical and general carpentry

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Basic math skills
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Ability to exceed expectations of guests and team members
