Job summary

Southeastern Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence, Inc. (SCADD) in Lebanon, CT, seeks a Maintenance Technician II to keep facilities safe, functional, and welcoming for clients and staff. You’ll support a range of maintenance, grounds, and safety tasks across SCADD properties.

Responsibilities include routine repairs, grounds work, safety reporting, and after-hours support. A high school diploma and relevant trade skills are required, with a valid driver’s license and commitment to SCADD’s

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or equivalent experience.
• Skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry or related trades.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record is required.
• Able to identify hazards and maintain safety of people, buildings and grounds.
• Strong organization and ability to prioritize tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain buildings with routine painting and minor repairs to electrical, plumbing and carpentry systems.
• Notify management of major repairs or additions to systems.
• Maintain grounds, fences and parking areas; manage vegetation removal.
• Complete weekly fire and safety reports as assigned.
• Participate in safety committee meetings as assigned.
• Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance needs.
• Prepare facilities for seasonal changes and manage climate control equipment.
• Orient new employees and transfer knowledge needed for duties.

What You'll Do:

As a Maintenance Technician II, you will play a hands‑on role in keeping SCADD's facilities safe, operational, and well‑maintained. Working out of our Lebanon Pines department and reporting to the Facilities Director, you will apply your skilled trade knowledge to handle a range of maintenance, grounds, and safety responsibilities across SCADD properties.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintain buildings by performing routine painting and minor repairs to electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems
• Notify management of the need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
• Maintain grounds, including mowing grass, trimming shrubs, clearing litter, and keeping fences and walls free of vegetation
• Complete weekly fire and safety reports as assigned
• Participate in safety committee meetings as assigned
• Remain available after hours to respond to emergency maintenance issues
• Ready all facilities for seasonal changes, including maintaining, installing, or removing air conditioners, and managing ice and snow removal supplies and equipment
• Clear snow, ice, and debris from sidewalks and parking areas at all SCADD properties as assigned
• Participate in the orientation of new employees and the transfer of knowledge necessary for the performance of duties

What You'll Need:

• High school diploma or equivalent; three to six months of related experience and/or training preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Skilled-level experience in building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, or related trades
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record (no or minimal infractions) required
• Ability to identify potential hazards and take action to ensure the safety of people, buildings, and grounds
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and respond to changing needs in a timely manner
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a mission‑driven environment
