Job summary

Arvato is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain conveyance and automation systems, perform installations, and manage repairs across the facility. You will coordinate preventative maintenance and respond quickly to breakdowns to keep operations running smoothly.

The role requires knowledge of electrical and automation systems, plus at least 1 year of conveyor maintenance experience (Hytrol a plus). Strong teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential for success in a busy environment.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable in electrical, electronic and distribution automation.
  • At least 1 year of conveyor maintenance experience (Hytrol a plus).
  • Ability to troubleshoot I/O networks (Profibus, Data Highway, CanBus).
  • Proficient with computers and monitoring equipment for material handling systems.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance, installations, and repairs across the floor as assigned.
  • Respond to system issues involving conveyors, MHE, sortation, and controls.
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and repairs to building assets.
  • Diagnose via PLCs, drives, sensors, and control systems; diagnose mechanical/electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic components.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance with team members and follow manuals and specs.
  • Support Facilities Manager initiatives and maintenance/upkeep tasks.
  • Repair and replace components per diagrams and manufacturer specs.
  • Coordinate third-party work and parts purchasing.
  • Oversee electrical, WIFI/IDF, plumbing, HVAC, sprinkler, and alarm systems as needed.
  • Engage with vendors and operations to implement modifications.

Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician at Arvato, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facility by maintaining conveyance and automation systems, completing installations, repairs, and assigned projects throughout the facility. You’ll work closely with the team to coordinate preventative maintenance efforts and be ready to respond quickly to breakdowns or emergencies to keep operations running efficiently.

YOUR TASKS
  • Perform daily maintenance, installations, and repairs in all areas of the floor as assigned.
  • Respond to all system issues involving conveyors, MHE, sortation, and controls (ARMADA, Hardware, Software, etc.).
  • Assists with infrastructure upgrades and modifications/repairs to building assets.
  • Basic troubleshooting/diagnostics and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system components of the conveyor system and building components, including but not limited to:
    • PLCs
    • High Speed Sortation Systems
    • Cobots
    • Material Handling Equipment
    • PANDA
    • VFDs
    • Robotic Systems
    • Scanners
    • Power distribution
    • Communication systems
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance efforts with other team members.
  • Follow operation manuals, diagrams, and the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Support the initiatives set forth by the Facilities Manager related to the day-to-day maintenance/upkeep of the facilities.
  • Perform detailed preventative maintenance.
  • Repair, replace, and maintain in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Support the coordination of third parties and ordering parts.
  • Complete building maintenance as needed to include: electrical, WIFI/IDF, Plumbing and sprinkler systems, HVAC, and Alarm systems.
  • Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and operations teams to address concerns, provide solutions, or implement modifications.
Qualifications
  • Be knowledgeable and skillful in work-related fields, including Electrical, Electronic, and Distribution Automation.
  • At least 1 year of Prior Conveyor Maintenance experience. (Hytrol systems are a plus).
  • Troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Profibus, Data Highway, and CanBus.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computers/computer-based monitoring equipment to diagnose material handling systems and building automation systems.
  • Must be team-oriented.
  • Possess excellent computer skills.
  • Must possess strong analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-directed and goal-oriented.
  • Must know commercial power distribution.
  • Advanced diagnostic/troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to train junior personnel.
  • Able to lead/direct projects and repairs in all areas of the floor as assigned by the Manager.
  • Coordinates preventative maintenance efforts.
  • Ability to motivate the team and establish positive morale.
