Job summary

Arvato is seeking an experienced Conveyor Maintenance Technician at our Louisville, KY facility to maintain, install, and repair conveyors and automation systems. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems including PLCs, robotics, and high-speed sortation, supporting upgrades and preventive maintenance initiatives.

A strong background in automation diagnostics and power distribution is essential.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of conveyor maintenance experience.
  • 5–10 years of automation repair and diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of Profibus/CanBus networks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to oversee projects with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily maintenance, installations, and repairs on conveyors and MHE.
  • Troubleshoot system issues involving conveyors, sortation, and controls.
  • Assist with infrastructure upgrades and repairs to building assets.
  • Read and interpret operation manuals and schematics.
  • Coordinate third parties and parts, and interact with vendors.

Job Description

In this role, you will perform daily maintenance, installations, and repairs across conveyors, material handling equipment, sortation systems, and advanced automation technologies. You will troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control systems—including PLCs, robotics, and high-speed sortation—while supporting infrastructure upgrades and preventative maintenance initiatives. If you have extensive experience in conveyor systems, automation diagnostics, and power distribution, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment, we want you on our team!

YOUR TASKS

  • Perform daily maintenance, installations, and repairs in all areas of the floor as assigned.
  • Respond to all system issues involving conveyors, MHE, sortation, and controls (ARMADA, Hardware, Software, etc.)
  • Assists with any infrastructure upgrades, along with modifications/repairs to building assets.
  • Basic troubleshooting/diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system components of the conveyor system and building components, including but not limited to:
    • PLCs/Controllers
    • High Speed Sortation Systems
    • Material Handling Equipment
    • Industrial Automation (Industrial Wrappers/Carton Erectors/Carton Closers/Carton Wrap)
    • 1D/2D/3D AS/RS and Multishuttle Systems
    • VFDs/MDR/Palletizers/Depalletizers
    • Robotic Systems (Cobots/AMRs/AGVs)
    • Scanners (Cognex/Sick/DataLogix)
    • Power distribution (480/240/120/24)
    • Communication systems (Ethernet/Profibus)
  • Read, understand, and explain complex operation manuals, diagrams, and manufacturers' specifications.
  • Ability to support all initiatives related to the day-to‑day maintenance/upkeep of the facilities.
  • Perform detailed preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance tasks as directed or with little to no supervision.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex automation and conveyance systems.
  • Repair, replace, and maintain in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and the manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Support the coordination of third parties and ordering parts.
  • Interact with manufacturers, vendors, and operations to remedy concerns, offer solutions, or implement modifications.
Qualifications
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
  • Be knowledgeable and skillful in work‑related fields, including Electrical, Mechanical, Controls, and Distribution Automation.
  • At least 10 to 15 years of prior Conveyor Maintenance experience. (Hytrol/Interroll systems are a plus).
  • At least 5-10 years of prior Automation repair, diagnostics, and troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and implement changes to I/O device networks such as Profibus, Data Highway, and CanBus.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize computers/computer-based monitoring equipment to diagnose material handling systems and building automation systems.
  • Must possess strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
  • Must have knowledge of commercial power distribution.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance tasks.
  • Able to lead/direct projects and repairs in all areas of the floor as assigned by the Manager with little to no supervision.
  • Work schedule: A-shift - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday - 6:00 am - 6:30 pm, and every other Saturday 6:00 am - 2:30 pm - some overtime is required
