Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will help maintain and improve the appearance and functionality of our facilities. The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and installations across campus. If a candidate has specialized skills, we will look to utilize them to the fullest.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and preventive repairs on building systems.
- Inspect and troubleshoot facility issues, documenting and resolving them in a timely manner.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities and materials used in our maintenance system.
- Work closely with other members of the Physical Plant and College staff to ensure the smooth operation of campus facilities and services.
- Clearly communicate campus maintenance and inventory needs with the maintenance supervisor.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in other duties as needed for the good and welfare of the overall college ministry, contributing to a positive campus environment.
- Participate in a regular on-call rotation, responding to facility emergencies or urgent maintenance requests as needed outside of regular working hours.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional technical certifications or trade school training is a plus.
- At least 2 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to use power tools and maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
- Basic knowledge of construction or carpentry.
- Basic knowledge of painting and drywall repairs.
- Prior experience working in a facility management or maintenance role within a corporate, retail, manufacturing, or higher education environment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Comfortable working in various environmental conditions (e.g., indoors, outdoors, confined spaces).
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, climb ladders and use lifts for extended periods.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Plowing and shoveling snow.
