Job summary

HRIM's Maintenance Technician position at Mid City Lofts in Lake Charles, LA is a full-time role focused on keeping the property's electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting in good condition. You'll handle maintenance requests, participate in preventive maintenance, and support on-call needs across apartment communities in the area.

We provide the tools, training, and support to help you keep our communities running safely and efficiently, with paid on-call rotation and a 401(k) match

Qualifications

• HVAC certification preferred.
• Residential/apartment maintenance experience preferred.
• General residential maintenance skills: A/C, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, electronics, drywall installation, finishing.
• Must be able to work on-call maintenance shifts.

Responsibilities

• Maintain general maintenance of exterior and interior of the property building.
• Complete work orders promptly, including on-call requests.
• Demonstrate the ability to resolve maintenance issues to prevent a recurrence.
• Maintain inventory to ensure materials, supplies, and equipment are available on-site.
• Inspect and test machinery and maintenance equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment; report unsafe conditions to the supervisor and recommend corrective action.
• Partner with external vendors, contractors, and other maintenance team members on special projects.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the property's general condition in terms of electrical, carpentry, plumbing, mechanical, and painting. Additional functions include completing maintenance request work orders on a timely basis and participating in the preventive maintenance program for all building equipment and rooms.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities

Physical Requirements

• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand/finger movement and coordination
• Must be able to lift, push, or pull 50 pounds at variable distances often
• This position involves climbing ladders at high levels for maintenance and exterior A/C repairs
• Must be physically able to climb ladders, bend, or crawl into confined, limited spaces
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, position, or move heavy objects
• Ability to walk for long periods, including climbing flights of stairs in various weather conditions
