Job summary

Colliers is seeking a skilled technician to provide preventative and reactive maintenance across a defined local market, focusing on commercial kitchen equipment and related building systems. You will diagnose, repair, and service equipment while maintaining documentation and parts inventory.

You’ll work with top brands, coordinate with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team onsite, and travel locally as required to ensure uptime and compliance with performance standards.

Qualifications

• Technical trade school training or equivalent hands-on experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required.
• Experience servicing kitchen equipment, facilities, or construction systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and remove commercial kitchen equipment.
• Service cooking equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, and base building systems.
• Respond to service requests within SLAs.
• Document work orders, time reporting, and inventory.
• Maintain organized service vehicle and tools.
• On-call emergency support as needed.
• Follow safety practices and OEM training requirements.
• Engage with partners and vendors in the service network.

This role ensures restaurant kitchen equipment and related building systems meet all performance standards through timely diagnostics, repair, and preventative service.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, install, and remove commercial kitchen equipment• Service commercial cooking equipment, refrigeration systems (including sealed systems), specialty foodservice equipment, and base building HVAC systems• Respond to Operator service requests within established service level agreements• Service equipment including (but not limited to): Henny Penny, Follett, Lennox (HVAC), Traulsen, Hobart mixers, Champion dishwashers, Garland Grill• Communicate with manufacturers for diagnosis support and parts identification• Consult with the Chick-fil-A Technical Assistance Team while onsite• Install ordered parts accurately and professionally• Complete accurate and timely documentation including work orders, time reporting, receipts, and truck stock inventory• Maintain an organized service vehicle, tools, and parts inventory• Support on-call emergency response during non-standard hours• Follow safe work practices and accident prevention procedures• Participate in continuous OEM training and certification programs• Engage with equipment partners, suppliers, and vendors supporting the service network• Maintain productivity levels in accordance with company standardsSKILLS, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE• Technical trade school training and/or relevant hands-on experience• Minimum 5+ years of related trade experience or equivalent• Proven training or experience in one or more of the following:Sealed refrigeration/HVAC systemsElectrical systemsMechanical systemsProcess controlsHot Side Cooking Equipment and/or Mechanical power transmission• Experience servicing kitchen equipment, facilities, or construction systems• EPA Universal Certification• Valid state driver’s license and proof of insurance• Safe driving record (MVR required)• Ability to safely operate company vehicles• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills• Ability to read diagrams and schematics• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and mobile service applications• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Self-starter with the ability to work independently• Positive, service-oriented attitudeTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS• 100% travel within a defined local market• Limited overnight travel mostly for onboarding and trainingPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Ability to work extended periods during emergency or priority situations (including overtime)• Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds• Climb ladders and stairs up to two stories (with ladder safety training) (Note: Roof access ladders are provided, van loading/unloading of a large ladder is non typical)• Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling• Extended periods of standing and walking on even and uneven surfaces• Frequent use of arms, wrists, and hands to operate tools and machinery• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsCompetitive compensation and benefits including, but not limited to, a full range of health care benefits, paid time off, and 401K are available.Colliers provides equal employment opportunities to all persons.
