Job description

Title: Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Type: Direct Hire

Starting Pay: Up to $32/hr depending on experience

Shift: 2nd shift - 3:00pm to 11:00pm

Role Overview

A Maintenance Technician II is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations by providing comprehensive multi-craft equipment maintenance, focusing on reliability and maintainability. The role involves ensuring the sustainable operation of machinery and equipment through preventive maintenance on motors, conveyor systems, and other production machinery. The technician may also participate in process improvement and problem-solving teams.

Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical and electrical background
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and OEM manuals
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
  • Familiarity with shop equipment such as drill presses, band saws, and power tools
  • Ability to read and interpret precision measuring devices
  • Capability to mentor and train other technicians
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Successful completion of certification testing
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent skills
Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions systematically
  • Install and align mechanical drive systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance, including major services and overhauls
  • Replace failed parts or components
  • Adjust equipment to meet operational specifications
  • Maintain machinery lubrication
  • Suggest process or procedure improvements based on observations
  • Test electrical systems and circuits for safety and proper operation
  • Install, examine, and repair electrical wiring and components
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for future reference
  • Train and mentor junior technicians and operators
