Job summary

Holiday Inn KCI Airport/Atwell Suites KCI is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms and public areas, ensuring everything is Guest Ready per IHG standards.

You will install, repair, and maintain equipment, troubleshoot HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and assist with security and safety across the property. The role requires physical capability and reliability in a hotel setting.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience in maintenance (preferred).
• Specialized skills in plumbing, electrical, painting, mechanical, or carpentry.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper installation, repair, and maintenance of equipment, plumbing, and other finished surfaces of the hotel.
• Anticipate maintenance needs, take initiative when required, and follow tasks through to completion.
• Assist with the repair and maintenance of air conditioning units, PTACs, and HVAC systems as needed.
• Assist with hotel security to minimize the risk of theft, crime, and other hazards.
• Troubleshoot issues with all hotel systems, including Keys/Locks, PMS, Fire Alarm, Water Softeners, HVAC, F&B Equipment, Boilers, Water Heaters, Water Flow, Water Softeners, Laundry Equipment, Fire Alarm Systems, ANSUL Systems, Fire Sprinkler Systems, etc.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of parts, supplies, and hotel-owned tools; order inventory as needed.
• Maintain the exterior of the property by doing daily walks around the premises, removing and disposing of trash as needed.
• Remove snow and spread ice melt in traffic areas to ensure safe walking paths for guests and employees.

Overview:

The Maintenance Technician performs preventative maintenance on all guest rooms and other public areas of the Atwell Suites KCI in accordance with IHG standards to ensure areas are "Guest Ready"!

Other Duties and Expectations:

• Work closely with all departments using crystal clear communication.
• Lead by example; encourage co-workers to always perform at the highest levels.
• Ask for feedback from supervisors and provide feedback as needed; be open and willing to take directions and/or make changes to job performance as needed.
• Engage guests at all opportunities to build a level of comfort between the guest and our property, instilling a "Home Away From Home" comfort during their stay.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• 1 year experience in Maintenance or other related field preferred.
• Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, painting, mechanical, carpentry, or related fields is a bonus.
• Hotel experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift and move objects of up to, or over, 50 lbs.

Schedule (may vary):

• Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm
• Holidays as needed
• Overtime as needed
• Some weekend availability, as needed, is a plus
