Job summary

Refresco is seeking a Maintenance Technician for our Kansas facility. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production lines, troubleshoot multiple systems, and ensure GMPs and food safety compliance throughout the shift.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of manufacturing maintenance experience, read blueprints, and hold forklift certification. This role requires teamwork and independent work with safety as a priority.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Forklift certification required.
• Ability to read and understand machinery blueprints and parts manuals.
• Work independently and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to GMPs, safety policies, and PPE in warehouse/production areas.
• Ensure food quality and safety compliance per SQF and corporate standards.
• Report FSMS issues to management for corrective actions.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production lines.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain all production support equipment (glycol/RO/air systems).
• Record part numbers and complete work orders with proper approvals.
• Communicate maintenance and production info across shifts.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Collaborate with adjacent teams to resolve issues and improve.

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

• Knowledge of GMPs.
• Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
• Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection, and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.
