Job summary

Tulsa Welding School, Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to support our classrooms and shop floors. You will use hand and power tools, read blueprints, and perform preventive maintenance to keep machines and systems running smoothly.

Responsibilities include diagnosing mechanical problems, ordering parts, assembling and repairing electrical and plumbing components, and attending semi-annual graduation events. Equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with a minimum of two years related field experience.

Responsibilities

• Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
• Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
• Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary
• Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogs and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
• Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment
• Mandatory attendance at semi-annual graduation
• Other duties/projects as assigned

Education and Experience:

Physical Environment:

• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
• Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at a desk or computer terminal
• Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone and other office equipment
• Stooping, bending twisting, and reaching may be required
• Some work may be completed in classroom or shop environment
