Qualifications

  • 6+ years of industrial equipment maintenance experience OR Associate degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing environment preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment including high-speed packaging systems, filling lines, processing mixers, pumps, conveyors, and automated manufacturing equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) activities and accurately complete all required documentation.
  • Manage open work orders within the CMMS system to ensure maintenance activities are completed on schedule.
  • Support cGMP documentation requirements and maintain compliance with established Quality Management Systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Assist with capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives including Kaizen activities.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and partner with Engineering to support equipment lifecycle planning.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Facilities teams to address equipment priorities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and leadership to other Maintenance Technicians.
  • Participate in on-call support for off-shift equipment emergencies.

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician IV to support a highly regulated medical device manufacturing facility in Irvine, CA. This senior-level maintenance role will focus on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving advanced production equipment to ensure maximum uptime and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience supporting automated manufacturing equipment in a GMP-regulated environment and the ability to work independently while providing leadership and mentorship to other maintenance team members.

This role plays a critical part in keeping production systems running reliably while supporting preventive maintenance programs, equipment improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience working in a GMP, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting experience with automated production equipment.
  • Working knowledge of:

  • Basic electrical systems and safety practices
  • Preventive maintenance programs
  • CMMS systems
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Experience
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience supporting high-speed automated production lines.
  • Knowledge of boilers, validated systems, standby electrical generation systems, RODI water systems, or aseptic processing.
  • Experience managing spare parts inventory and supporting equipment reliability initiatives.
  • Prior leadership, mentoring, or senior technician experience.
