Transcendia, Inc. in Greenville, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician responsible for establishing the requirements to manage the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities, and operating slitters and related support processes.

You will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair equipment, and ensure safety in accordance with OSHA guidelines, while maintaining accurate maintenance records and collaborating with plant operators.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or post-secondary training in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or related area
  • 3-5 years' experience in production electrical/mechanical maintenance
  • Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment and associated electrical components

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety requirements of maintenance duties and OSHA guidelines
  • Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance records and records of repairs
  • Repair and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Diagnose causes of malfunction by evaluating equipment performance
  • Disassemble machinery to replace parts and perform repairs
  • Inspect parts and equipment for defects and wear
  • Repair, replace, and calibrate components including electrical parts
  • Clean and lubricate machinery and equipment
  • Test-run repaired equipment to verify repairs
  • Order parts, materials and services as needed
  • Set up and maintain maintenance work area and tools
  • Set up, troubleshoot and configure AC/DC drives

Job description

Job Summary: To establish the requirements and competency necessary to manage the maintenance of plant equipment and facilities. The primary responsibility of this position is the operation of slitters and all support processes within that job function. Additional duties may be required for the support food safety requirements as needed.

Job Duties
  • Responsible for the safety requirements of the maintenance duties and ensuring the plant equipment and facilities are within the guidelines of OSHA requirements
  • Establishes and maintains preventative maintenance records and records of all repairs
  • Responsible for repair and maintenance of plant equipment
  • Confers with operators and evaluates equipment performance to diagnose cause of malfunction
  • Dissembles machinery and equipment to remove parts and make repairs
  • Examines parts and equipment for defects such as breakage and excessive wear
  • Repairs, replaces, adjusts, and aligns components of machinery and equipment, including electrical components
  • Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment and machinery
  • Test-runs repaired machinery and equipment to verify adequacy of repair
  • Orders or requisitions parts, materials and contract services as needed
  • Responsible for set-up, organization and upkeep of maintenance work area, equipment (e.g., parts, grinders, lathes, welding equipment, etc.), and consumable tooling and spare parts
  • Sets up, troubleshoots and enters parameters for AC/DC drives
Job Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or post-secondary training in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or related area
  • 3-5 years' experience working in production electrical/mechanical maintenance role
  • Experience with maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of equipment and associated electrical components
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office or similar applications
  • Organization and planning skills
  • Strong communication skills; ability to work across all organizational levels
  • Ability to work independently
