Job summary

Nucor Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician for its River Metals Recycling LLC division in Glasgow, KY. The role involves maintaining and repairing various equipment, ensuring safety procedures are followed, and assisting other personnel during scheduled repairs.

Ideal candidates will have at least one year of maintenance and welding experience, and must be able to work in diverse weather conditions, standing or walking for up to 10 hours a day.

Basic Job Functions

• Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures.
• Maintain and repair all equipment including but not limited to conveyor and hydraulic systems, bearings, gear boxes, motors, shredder, eddy current, baler, etc.
• Change liners, grates, hammers, etc.
• Work in outdoor and indoor environments.
• Minor cleanup and other duties as assigned.
• Assist other maintenance and production personnel during scheduled repair projects.

Minimum Qualifications

• 1-year previous maintenance/welding experience preferred.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
• Flexible working overtime in an industrial environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to work standing or walking for up to 10 hours per day.
