Job summary

Xyant Technology in Franklin Park, IL is seeking a mechanically skilled Maintenance Technician to support our roll-forming manufacturing operation. This full-time role inspects, troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains production equipment, with training provided on our lines and equipment.

Primary responsibilities include troubleshooting line equipment, performing mechanical repairs, assisting with hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical work, and completing preventive maintenance.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical skills and willingness to learn industrial equipment.
• Experience as automotive/equipment maintenance or similar role acceptable.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
• Welding, fabrication, hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical experience is helpful but not required.
• Reading diagrams, manuals, and measuring tools.
• Dependable, safety-conscious and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and in a maintenance team.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair roll-forming lines, presses, uncoilers, straighteners, feeders, conveyors, cranes, forklifts, and other production equipment.
• Perform mechanical repairs involving bearings, shafts, chains, belts, gearboxes, motors, couplings, cylinders, and material-handling components.
• Assist with hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and component replacement.
• Use hand tools, power tools, welders, measuring tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
• Assist with equipment installations, modifications, fabrication, and improvement projects.
• Respond to production breakdowns and work with operators and other maintenance personnel to safely return equipment to operation.
• Document completed repairs, parts used, and additional work needed.
• Follow all safety and lockout/tagout procedures.

Kindly note:The ideal candidate does not need to know everything on the first day. We are looking for someone with good mechanical skills, strong troubleshooting ability, a willingness to learn, and the motivation to grow into a skilled Industrial Maintenance Mechanic.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a mechanically skilled and dependable Maintenance Mechanic to support our roll-forming manufacturing operation.

This is a hands-on position responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment.

Industrial maintenance experience is preferred but not required.

Candidates with automotive, equipment repair, fabrication, or other strong mechanical backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Training will be provided on our roll-forming lines and production equipment.
