Job summary

Saronic Technologies, a leader in autonomy at sea, seeks a maintenance technician to perform routine upkeep and repairs on shipyard equipment, including telehandlers, forklifts, and welding machines. You will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and parts used.

On-site training is provided and safety is our priority. The role requires collaboration with welders, electricians, and other trades to ensure smooth vessel

Qualifications

• Identify hazards and maintain clean and organized working areas.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs of equipment.
• Be a technical resource for production and procurement teams.
• Knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Able to work aloft (on scaffold or on manlifts) and in confined spaces.
• On-site training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on shipyard equipment, including telehandlers, forklifts, cherry pickers, manlifts, welding machines, power tools, industrial manufacturing equipment, compressors, etc.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure optimal shipyard operations
• Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize equipment failures and downtime
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities including repairs made and parts used
• Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessary
• Performing routine maintenance and emergency repairs

Job Summary/Technical Knowledge

• Identify hazards and maintain clean and organized working areas
• Understand and execute procedures for routine preventive maintenance and basic repairs of a variety of Saronic equipment.
• Be a technical resource for our production and procurement teams
• Knowledge of the installation, repair, and maintenance of the mechanical and electrical systems; and the related components of industrial machinery and equipment
• Will be required to work aloft (on scaffold or on manlifts) and in confined spaces.

Job Proficiency

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on shipyard equipment, including but not limited to: telehandlers, forklifts, cherry pickers, manlifts, welding machines, power tools, industrial manufacturing equipment, compressors, etc.

Culture and Collaboration

• Follow all shipyard safety policies, including proper use of PPE, fire prevention, and confined space protocols.
• Assist in the training and development of junior maintenance technicians
• Collaborate and communicate with welders, metal fitters, pipefitters, electricians, and other trades as required to complete vessel construction or repair and to maintain efficient work flows
• Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced ship production environment
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Maintain a positive attitude toward customers and represent Saronic professionally
• Make a personal commitment and be accountable for HSE results, driving toward the achievement of defined goals
• Collaborate with Maintenance Supervisor(s), Production Manager(s), and other team members to prioritize and schedule maintenance tasks
