Job summary

Uptime Industrial in Fort Mill, South Carolina, is seeking a hands-on Millwright/Maintenance Technician for 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm) or 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am), Monday–Friday. You will troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, install upgrades, and work closely with skilled trades to keep systems operating safely.

The ideal candidate has strong mechanical aptitude and proven maintenance/repair skills, with a focus on quality workmanship, safety, and customer service.

We have established an initial customer base and secured projects in South Carolina, providing a foundation from which we are looking to build and grow our presence throughout South Carolina and North Carolina.

Reporting to the Area Manager – Carolinas, the Millwright / Maintenance Technician will work on an industrial project in Fort Mill, South Carolina, supporting the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial equipment and machinery.

This is a hands-on role for someone with strong mechanical aptitude and industrial experience who is comfortable troubleshooting equipment, completing repairs, and working alongside other skilled tradespeople to keep equipment operating safely and reliably.

This position is available on 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm)or 3rd shift (11:00pm–7:30am), Monday through Friday, with 8 paid hours per shift.

Key responsibilities include:

• Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and upgrade mechanical equipment and systems;
• Take ownership of your work from start to finish, ensuring it meets scope and quality standards;
• Communicate directly with customers, keeping them informed and setting clear expectations throughout the job;
• Work independently and collaboratively with other trades depending on the project;
• Work safely and follow all company and regulatory requirements, including completing daily FLRAs.

Our Must Haves

• Experience working for a mechanical or industrial contractor and/or in industrial environments such as food & beverage, manufacturing, distribution, recycling, or processing facilities;
• Strong mechanical aptitude with proven troubleshooting, diagnostic, maintenance, and repair skills;
• The ability to adapt to different customer sites, equipment, and working environments;
• A valid driver's license;
• Your own basic hand tools and approved safety footwear;
• A strong commitment to safe, high-quality workmanship;
• The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with customers, apprentices, and other trades.
