Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) in Farmville, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to diagnose, repair and replace mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment on plant systems. You will work with a multi‑craft team on preventive maintenance, respond to breakdowns in a production setting, and participate in training to grow your skills.

Requirements include 2+ years of industrial machinery troubleshooting; a technical degree is a plus, and corrugated packaging or printing

Maintenance Technician

Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) is a Fortune 500 company dedicated to delivering high performance and environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

This position is based at the PCA Box Plant located in Farmville, NC.

Responsibilities

This role involves diagnosing, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on plant equipment.

Technicians work as part of a team to safely perform preventive maintenance activities and respond to breakdown calls in a production environment.

All Maintenance Technician positions are multi‑craft; training is provided to develop these skills.

Basic Qualifications

2+ years’ experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.

A technical degree in the mechanical or electrical trades is a plus.

Experience in the corrugated packaging or printing industry is a plus.

The production schedule spans three shifts; Technicians are assigned based on plant needs and seniority.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $28.14 – $33.49 per hour.

  • 1.5× pay for hours over 8 per day and over 40 per week.
  • 1.5× pay for Saturday and Sunday.
  • 1.5× pay for holidays plus additional overtime over 8 hours on holidays.
  • Paid training to advance skill levels and achieve higher pay.
  • Technicians supply their own basic hand tools; PCA provides a tool stipend or replacement.
  • PCA provides safety shoe and safety glass stipends.
  • PCA provides uniforms for Maintenance Technicians.

  • Paid vacation: 2 weeks per calendar year; pro‑rated vacation during the initial year.
  • Paid holidays.

Annual bonus based on the achievement of plant performance metrics.
