Job summary

Presque Isle Downs, Inc. is looking for a maintenance team member responsible for the overall maintenance, plumbing, and electrical components at the Rose Gaming Resort in Dumfries, Virginia. The role includes general maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative tasks on various systems.

The Rose Gaming Resort is a $480 million gaming and entertainment complex destination, located alongside I-95 in Dumfries, Virginia. Along with exciting gaming action, The Rose Gaming Resort provides a luxury hotel, eight bars and restaurants, a space for meetings and events, 50,000+ square foot gaming space and over 1,650 Historical Horse Racing machines, and over 80 acres of green space. JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the overall maintenance, plumbing, and electrical components of the building and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for general maintenance and repair of minor problems throughout the Casino as directed by immediate supervisor.
• Operates lawn equipment as needed.
• Organizes tools and supplies and makes requests to direct report as needed.
• Operates Company vehicles as required.
• Conducts preventive maintenance on all equipment as assigned.
• Performs emergency maintenance on systems and equipment as required.
• Troubleshoots and takes corrective action to ensure structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and refrigeration operate as needed.
• Performs all other related and compatible duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The team member has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations.

• Attend required training sessions offered by the Company.
• Obtain and retain required license(s).
• Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
• Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
• Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the Team Member’s department.
• Have knowledge of the Property’s programs to address problem gaming.
• Report any acts of wrongdoing of which the Team Member may have knowledge.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Virginia Racing Commission License
Valid Driver’s License with a minimum of three years driving experience.

• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
• Six months of previous work experience required.
• Gaming, Hospitality, or Customer service work experience preferred.
• Minimal of two to three years of experience in position related to assigned duties required.
• Technical school or formal apprenticeship is preferred and may be required based on needs of the operation.
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Read Company or departmental reports, newsletters, and documents.
• Perform basic mathematical computations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals).
• Protect the Company’s value by keeping information confidential.
• Perform assigned tasks under frequent supervision. Follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Communicate information and suggestions in oral and written form. Prepare written documents and complete reports as required.
• Utilize MS Office products at basic skill level (create new documents, open and edit existing documents).
• See problems and avoid situations that could be deemed illegal or represent a safety hazard to fellow employees or guests.
• Respond to inquiries or complaints from employees, guests, regulatory agencies, and others.
• Travel locally, or between properties as needed.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; attending expos or conventions; and developing or maintaining professional networks.
