College for Creative Studies in Detroit is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the Facilities Department across a range of trades. The role requires a hands-on approach to painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical work and basic equipment maintenance on a busy campus.
You will receive deliveries, assist with events, manage mail, and help maintain life-safety systems. A valid license, clean driving record and the ability to lift 50 pounds are expected.
The maintenance technician will assist in all aspects of the Facilities Department.
STATUS: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
DIVISION: Facilities
REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving parts, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Staff in this position must be able to work outdoors if needed, sometimes in inclement weather and sometimes on rooftops. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
