Job summary

The Armstrong Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure production equipment operates reliably in our Denver area facilities. You will configure machinery for scheduled runs, perform troubleshooting on mechanical, electrical, PLC, and hydraulic systems, and perform preventive maintenance to keep lines running.

You will read manuals and work orders, adhere to OSHA safety rules, and support food safety programs while working a flexible shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires associate degree or equivalent in industrial maintenance and a strong background in food manufacturing or equivalent.
• Minimum 5+ years as a maintenance technician in a production environment.
• 3-5 years in food manufacturing preferred; 2+ years as a machinist.
• Must be able to work flexible shifts.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain production equipment for quality products.
• Configure machinery for scheduled runs.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, PLC and hydraulic systems and provide quick repairs.
• Check fluid levels and perform equipment overhauls.
• Complete daily ammonia refrigeration, boiler and air system checks.
• Read manuals and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA safety rules and food safety standards.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Ensuring production equipment is set up and maintained to produce quality Ziegenfelder treats ready for delivery to customers.
• Preparing and configuring machinery for scheduled production runs.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics (PLC's), and hydraulic systems and providing immediate corrective maintenance support to production lines, conveyor belts, and ancillary production equipment.
• Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels in various pieces of equipment.
• Performing overhauls of existing production equipment.
• Completing daily checks of the ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and air systems.
• Inspecting and repairing various facility items as directed by your manager.
• Installing new production equipment.
• Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules.
• This position is responsible for the food safety of our products.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance ideally in a food environment
• 5+ years of experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably in the food manufacturing environment or equivalent/relevant experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred or equivalent/relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience as a machinist.
• Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
• Ability to motivate in a fast-paced environment.
• Candidate must be flexible in working any shift available for this position.

Physical Abilities

• Standing up to 8 hours per day.
• Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.
• Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.
• Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.
• Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.
• May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.

Compensation

Compensation $29.61 - $35.05 per hour, depending on experience.
