Job summary

The Armstrong Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure production equipment is set up and maintained for high-quality treats. You will troubleshoot a range of systems, perform daily safety and equipment checks, and support continuous production across shifts.

Qualifications include an associates degree in industrial maintenance and 5+ years in a maintenance role, with ammonia refrigeration experience considered a plus.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance.
• 5+ years of experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably in food manufacturing.
• 3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred.
• 2+ years of experience as a machinist.
• Experience with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Set up and maintain production equipment to run quality products.
• Prepare and configure machinery for scheduled production.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, PLCs and hydraulic issues and provide immediate maintenance support.
• Check and maintain fluid levels across equipment.
• Overhaul existing production equipment as needed.
• Perform daily checks of ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and air systems.
• Inspect and repair facility items per supervisor directions.
• Install new production equipment and read manuals/work orders.
• Comply with OSHA Safety and Health rules and ensure food safety.

ResponsibilitiesEnsuring production equipment is set up and maintained to produce quality Ziegenfelder treats ready for delivery to customers.Preparing and configuring machinery for scheduled production runs.Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, electronics (PLC’s), and hydraulic systems and providing immediate corrective maintenance support to production lines, conveyor belts, and ancillary production equipment.Checking and maintaining proper fluid levels in various pieces of equipment.Performing overhauls of existing production equipment.Completing daily checks of the ammonia refrigeration, boiler, and air systems.Inspecting and repairing various facility items as directed by your manager.Installing new production equipment.Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.Complying with OSHA Safety and Health rules.This position is responsible for the food safety of our products.QualificationsAssociate’s degree or equivalent experience in industrial maintenance ideally in a food environment5+ years of experience in a Maintenance Technician role, preferably in the food manufacturing environment or equivalent/relevant experience.3-5 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment highly preferred or equivalent/relevant experience.2+ years of experience as a machinist.Experience working with ammonia refrigeration is a plus.Ability to motivate in a fast-paced environment.Candidate must be flexible in working any shift available for this position.Physical AbilitiesStanding up to 8 hours per day.Moving and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. regularly.Bending, twisting, reaching and grasping actions.Good spatial awareness working around manufacturing equipment.Subject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.Working ConditionsSubject to cold temperatures of less than 32F for more than one hour with proper protection equipment.May be subject to noise above 85 decibels with proper protection equipment.Compensation$29.61 - $35.05 per hour, depending on experience.Who We AreThe Armstrong Group is a family owned and operated collection of diverse companies.
