Job summary

Harlan Bakeries LLC is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Denver, CO. The role focuses on keeping processing equipment reliable through repair and preventive maintenance, with a shift from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field is highly preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience or 5 years related trade experience required.
• Six months or more of experience in the food processing/manufacturing preferred.
• Proficient in use of basic hand tools and basic machine tools.
• Ability to read specifications and pay attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and food-safety by following company, OSHA, and GMP procedures.
• Support Preventative Maintenance program to reduce unscheduled downtime.
• Troubleshoot PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted.
• Maintain records of work performed using software, logs, and work orders.
• Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting as needed.
• Identify required parts and maintain inventories and reorder lists.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and cross-functional CI tasks.
• Perform other required tasks as assigned.

Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability by repairing and maintaining a wide range of processing equipment across the plant.

Shift hours are 6:00 pm - 6:00 am.

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and food-safety by following all company, OSHA, and government rules and procedures including; Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety, and food safety/SQF Program standards;
• Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime;
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment to include; PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control systems;
• Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted;
• Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders and detailed logs;
• Assist with equipment change overs and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed;
• Identify required parts and maintain current inventories, and parts reorder lists;
• Act with a Continuous Improvement mindset seeking areas of opportunity for improvement and participating in cross-functional CI focused projects;
• Perform other required tasks as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Associates or Bachelor’ degree in related field (technical or vocational education) highly preferred but not required;
• Minimum of 3 years maintenance experience or 5 years related trade experience required;
• Six months or more of experience in the food processing/manufacturing preferred;
• Proficient in use of basic machine tools and hand tools;
• Proficient in use of basic electrical trouble-shooting equipment;
• Able to properly wire electric motors;
• Able to stick and MIG weld carbon and SS;
• Able to plasma and oxy acetylene cut material;
• Ability to read specifications and pay attention to detail;
• Ability to communicate effectively;
• Must provide own hand tools. Company will provide specialized tools.
