Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including plumbing, electrical, painting and repairs.

• Assist with preventative maintenance and apartment turnovers.
• Maintain emergency call system and participate in safety procedures.
• Drive company vehicles as needed and be on-call for emergencies.
• Support housekeeping as needed.

Maintenance Technician

Description of responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance duties including fixing wall and/ or floor coverings, repairing furniture and fixtures, basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, repairing appliances, painting, and refurbishing projects
• Complete work orders in a timely manner
• Assist with preventative maintenance program
• Complete apartment turnovers
• Perform carpet and hard surface floor maintenance
• Assist with housekeeping as needed
• Assist with Fire Safety and Disaster Preparedness Evacuation procedures
• Maintain emergency call system
• Drive company vehicles as needed
• On-call for building emergencies
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required experience:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Technical school education preferred
• One (1) year maintenance or housekeeping experience preferred

Required skills:

• Must have basic technical knowledge (such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and code compliance) and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment
• Basic knowledge of construction principles
• Must possess a general understanding of OSHA, fire prevention, and life and safety regulations
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Interest in working with a senior population
• Demonstrated customer service skills
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Organization and time management skills
• Good judgement, problem solving, and decision‑making skills
• Must be able to work independently
