Kensington Consulting Ltd. seeks a Maintenance Technician to service and repair advanced autonomous material-handling equipment at customer sites in Dayton, OH.

The role involves hands-on maintenance of robotic forklifts, troubleshooting sensors, lasers, and communication systems, and ensuring high availability for on-site teammates and engineering support. Travel to customer sites is required, with a focus on preventive maintenance, installations, and on-the-job training for client users.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree a plus).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a fleet of robotic forklifts at primary and secondary customer sites (occasional travel required).
• Troubleshoot and service robotic lift truck equipment including lasers, sensors and communication systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance (lubrication, cleaning, replacement of worn parts).
• Document action plans, interventions and resolutions for support services.
• Calibrate robotic AGVs to ensure optimal performance.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing and quality checks.
• Perform robot retrofits and hardware upgrades.
• Support installation phases and project ramp-up.
• Provide on-the-job training to customer users.
• Test new hardware and support continuous improvement initiatives.

DAY-TO-DAY OF THE ROLE

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree a plus)

SKILLS YOU NEED

• 1‑3 years of mechanical experience in automotive, aviation, forklift or related maintenance
• Solid knowledge of hydraulics, electrical and charging systems
• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
• Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass a background check
