GNS North America is hiring a Maintenance Technician to support stamping and laser-cutting operations in our Michigan facility. Under minimal supervision, you’ll troubleshoot robotic, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and repair equipment to keep production running.

Description
We deliver advanced metalworking solutions for automotive and industrial clients, specializing in stamping, welding, laser cutting, and assembly. Our in-house tool & die capabilities provide full design, simulation, and build services for complex projects.
Under minimal supervision, perform routine maintenance procedure, help troubleshoot and quickly repair any robotic, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic problem that arise. Support all equipment and systems within the facility.

The position is in the factory and involves walking, standing for long periods of time throughout the day. It requires being able to lift up to 50 pounds, push and pull up to 75 pounds. While performing duties of this job, you will be required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend, twist, climb, balance on regular basis and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a usual work standard of 40+ hours per week. You may be called to the plant at night, weekends and/or holidays for emergency situations to repair or diagnose machine issues. Overtime may be necessary, dictated by company need and managers’ discretion.
Work performed in a shop environment and regularly exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes and noise. These workers may work in awkward positions, including on top of ladders or in cramped conditions under large machinery, which exposes them to additional hazards. They are subject to common shop injuries such as cuts, bruises, and strains, therefore is required to use protective equipment such as hardhats, safety glasses, steel-tipped shoes, hearing protectors, belts, etc. This job is surrounded by machinery that often becomes very hot, which may lead to an uncomfortably warm environment. Requires working in non-air-conditioned variable temperature factory setting. The responsibilities of the position include compliance with company and governmental safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations and procedures.
