NEPA Wholesale seeks an Assistant Robotic Technician to support installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming of robotic systems across our facilities. You will drive automation improvements while upholding safety and productivity standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance of AGVs, programming tasks, and collaboration with international teams to optimize warehouse operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with industrial robotic systems (Fanuc or similar).
• Proficiency in robotics programming including ladder logic, PLC, and HMI configuration.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, schematics reading, and PLC repair.

Responsibilities

• Maintain AGV fleet on the warehouse floor with 95% uptime; perform preventive maintenance every 2–3 months.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software AGV issues, identifying root causes.
• Act as primary contact with AGV vendor/support teams across time zones and cultures.
• Analyze warehouse workflows to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Lead new robotics projects and design workflows tailored to needs.
• Interpret robotics programming languages and learn new tools as they emerge.
• Train warehouse associates on new workflows and processes.
• Maintain barcode-based floor navigation system for AGVs.
• Keep detailed service records for each robot.
• Manage inventory of spare parts and organize troubleshooting tools.

Job Summary

Join our innovative team as an Assistant Robotic Technician and become a vital contributor to our industrial automation and robotics initiatives. In this energetic role, you will support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming of robotic systems, ensuring seamless operation and continuous improvement. Your expertise will help optimize manufacturing processes, enhance productivity, and uphold safety standards across our facilities. This position offers a dynamic environment where your mechanical and electrical skills will drive technological advancements and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the fleet of Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) on the warehouse floor, ensuring that a minimum of 95% of AGVs remain operational and functional at all times. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on each unit every two to three months.
• Apply strong analytical and creative, out-of-the-box problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve both hardware and software issues affecting AGVs. Recognize that issues vary from robot to robot and rarely repeat in the same way, and be able to identify the underlying root cause rather than just addressing symptoms.
• Serve as the primary point of contact with AGV vendor and support teams regarding issues, updates, and troubleshooting. Communicate effectively and patiently with international teams across varying time zones, cultures, and languages.
• Analyze warehouse workflows to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, develop practical solutions, and present recommendations to supervisors and the warehouse manager.
• Lead new robotics and automation projects, designing workflows tailored to operational needs and requirements.
• Interpret and work with robotics programming languages, and demonstrate a willingness to learn new tools and technologies as they emerge.
• Train and mentor warehouse associates on new workflows and processes.
• Maintain the barcode-based floor navigation system used by the AGVs, ensuring all floor codes remain clean, intact, and readable to the vehicles at all times.
• Maintain detailed, individual service records documenting issues and repairs for each robot.
• Manage and organize inventory of spare parts, keeping accurate records of available stock.
• Maintain and organize all tools required for troubleshooting and maintenance, ensuring they are accounted for and in working condition.

Experience

• Hands‑on experience working with industrial robotic systems, particularly Fanuc or similar brands.
• Proficiency in robotics programming, including ladder logic (LD), PLC programming, and HMI configuration.
• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, schematics reading, and troubleshooting PLC systems installation and repair.

Qualifications & Skills

• Hands‑on experience in automotive repair, mechanical maintenance, electrical work, industrial equipment, or equipment repair preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and technical problem‑solving skills.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Must be comfortable driving a company vehicle.
• Must be willing and able to travel between multiple warehouse locations as required.
• Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel for maintenance and technical support assignments are required.
