Job summary

Northeast Arc in Danvers is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Property Maintenance team. This is a 100% on-site, hands-on role requiring physical work performed in-person at our locations.

The position runs Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00am–4:00pm, with flexibility for emergencies and seasonal needs. A High School Diploma or GED is required, plus at least 1 year of maintenance experience; technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-licensed maintenance and minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, painting, and HVAC.
• Manage inventory and upkeep of maintenance van and tools.
• Assist with snow removal and seasonal maintenance as needed.
• Paint and repair interior walls and flooring; keep spaces in good order.
• Process work orders and prepare rooms for meetings.
• Maintain interiors, equipment, fixtures, walls, ceilings, and caulking.

Northeast Arc is seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our Facilities & Property Maintenance team in Danvers!

Job Summary:

Performs preventive and general maintenance and repairs on equipment and properties to maintain physical condition and appearance of property, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant regulations (EPA, Hazmat, and OSHA safety rules & regulation).

This is a 100% on-site, hands-on Maintenance Technician role. Candidates must be comfortable performing physical maintenance work and responding to maintenance needs in person at our locations.

Job Type:

On-site work environment

Pay Rate:

$26.00 hourly

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs non-licensed maintenance and preventative tasks, including minor repairs in electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, painting, and HVAC systems.
• Manages inventory and upkeep of maintenance van and tools.
• Assists with snow removal and seasonal maintenance as needed.
• Paints and repairs interior wall finishes and minor flooring damage.
• Completes requests for hauling furniture, files, and boxes; moving and setting up appliances; and preparing rooms for meetings.
• Maintains building interior, equipment, fixtures, walls, ceilings, woodwork, and caulking.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Previous 1 year experience in a maintenance role a must!
• Technical school training or maintenance-related certifications a plus.

Skills & Abilities:

• Proficient in operating equipment such as snow blowers, lawn mowers, and hand tools.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, heating, and carpentry.
• Computer proficiency and ability to manage digital work orders.
• Availability for on-call and weekend coverage.

Physical Demands:

This is a physically active role requiring frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and lifting items over 50 pounds.

• Must be able to perform physical maintenance duties, including lifting, carrying, using tools and equipment, and working both indoors and outdoors as needed.
• This position requires daily travel to Northeast Arc locations and is not eligible for remote work.

Work Environment:

Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, mechanical parts, and loud noise levels is common in this role.
