Job summary

Champion Home Builders Co. is seeking a Plant Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and related electrical and hydraulic systems.

The role requires inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment, performing lubrication and preventive maintenance, and coordinating repairs to support production schedules. Some non-maintenance duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school, or 3–6 months related experience and/or training.
• Ability to inspect, diagnose, and repair machinery and equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and pipe work.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Dismantles defective machines and installs parts.
• Lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other components.
• Schedules maintenance to avoid production delays.
• Repairs electrical components and pipe systems.

Job Description

Job Title: Plant Maintenance Technician

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

Summary Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.


• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem or repair machine.


• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.


• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.


• Schedule maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled timelines.


• Co-ordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their schedule timelines.


• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.


• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.


• Repairs pneumatic hand tools.


• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.


• May be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.
