Job summary

Champion Home Builders Inc. is seeking a Plant Maintenance Worker in Millen, GA. The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, electrical systems, pipework, and structural elements to ensure continuous production.

The successful candidate will inspect equipment, diagnose issues, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate timely repairs. A relevant certificate or equivalent experience is required, with training available as needed.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds to detect malfunction and discuss operation variations with supervisors.
• Dismantle defective machines and replace parts.

• Schedule maintenance to avoid hindering production timelines.
• Coordinate timely repairs to support production goals.
• Install and repair electrical equipment and components of machinery.
• Lay out and maintain pipe systems and hydraulic/pneumatic equipment.
• Repair and maintain the physical structure of the facility.
• May perform non-maintenance duties as needed.

Summary

Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
• Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problems or repair machines.
• Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
• Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Schedule maintenance in a manner that will not hinder the production team from meeting their scheduled timelines.
• Coordinates repairs in a timely manner to assist the production team in meeting their scheduled timelines.
• Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
• Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
• Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
• May be required to perform non-maintenance duties on a temporary basis.
