Job summary

Owens Corning is seeking a facilities maintenance technician to support routine inspections, repairs, and general upkeep of a manufacturing facility in Corona, CA. You will assist with carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith work and related trades, while also handling warehousing duties and safety responsibilities to ensure a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in routine maintenance and basic trades tasks.
• Ability to assist with installation, repair and upkeep in a manufacturing facility.
• Willingness to perform warehouse duties and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection and maintenance.
• Assist with semiskilled tasks in maintenance, repair, and construction.
• Support basic building maintenance trades including carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet and mechanics.
• Carry out warehouse duties related to receiving, storage and distribution of materials.
• Receive goods and verify against purchase orders and delivery docs.
• Keep warehouse and shelving clean and organized.
• Inspect grounds and communicate with management about upkeep.
• Perform daily grounds keeping and ensure disposal areas are clean and safe.
• Prepare and paint walls/woodwork; install or repair carpet; perform custodial duties as required.
• Maintain records of preventive maintenance schedules and MSDS sheets.
• May conduct weekly safety checks to maintain a safe environment.

Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Perform routine, repetitive daily inspection, and maintenance necessary.
• Assist and performs semiskilled tasks of a general nature in connection with maintenance, repair construction tasks in the up keep of the manufacturing facility.
• Assist and performs with installation, maintenance, repair and construction work in the basic building maintenance trades, such as carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, locksmith, carpet and mechanics.
• Performs warehouse duties in connection with receiving, storage and distribution of materials.
• Receives warehouse goods and materials and checks them against purchase orders and delivery documentation to ensure correctness of merchandise and proper condition.
• Maintains warehouse and shelving in clean and orderly conditions
• Inspects properties and communicate with management regarding proper grounds keeping and general cleanup and maintenance
• Perform general grounds keeping on a daily basis; inspect outside areas, ensure disposal areas are kept clean and in a safe condition
• Prepares and paints walls and woodwork or performs other types of refinish; installs or repairs carpet; performs custodial duties as required
• Maintains accurate records of preventative maintenance schedules, and MSDS sheets.
• May perform weekly safety checks throughout the facility to ensure a safe and clean environment for the employees and visitors of the facility and to eliminate all hazards.

The base rate for this position is $25 to $30/hr, with the potential for up to an additional 25% if the applicant hired has additional related qualifications.
