Job summary

Cascades Inc. in Rochester, NY is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine and preventative maintenance on plant machinery and systems.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues, calibrate equipment, and keep detailed records of work orders while following strict health and safety standards. This role offers a 1st shift (7am–3:30pm) with a starting salary of $25/hr, profit sharing, telemedicine, group insurance, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of construction, commercial, or industrial maintenance experience.
• Some experience with preventative maintenance on class 8 trucks.
• Class B CDL license an asset.
• Proficiency in using maintenance tools and equipment.
• Strong communications skills.
• Ability to climb, kneel, crouch and work above the shoulders.

Responsibilities

• Follow health and safety standards.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems to identify and address issues/repairs.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or plumbing problems in equipment, machinery, and facilities.
• Ensure that equipment and instruments are calibrated correctly to maintain accuracy and precision.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance requests and work orders.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Assist supervisor/leads on training team members on basic functioning/preventative maintenance measures.
• Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs or maintenance tasks when necessary.
