Job summary

Cascades in Eau Claire is seeking a Journeyman Maintenance Technician to keep our on‑the‑floor operations running smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot, repair and install equipment, conduct preventive maintenance, and work with motors, conveyors, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems to meet safety and production goals.

You will use CMMS software to manage work orders, follow SOPs and LOTO protocols, and collaborate with teams to improve machine operation.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Millwright certificate required.
• Extensive manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
• Skills in pipe fitting, welding, mechanics, rigging, motors, machinery, vibration analysis.
• Strong computer skills for maintenance software use.
• Commitment to safety, teamwork, attendance and production demands.
• Ability to work at heights and with powered equipment.
• High school diploma/GED required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and install equipment safely, efficiently and in compliance with all plant policies and procedures, including motors, conveyors, and pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Conduct preventive maintenance and repair on equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturing specifications.
• Develop procedures for improved knowledge on machine operation, change over and troubleshooting.
• Follow LOTO and additional safety protocols and procedures.
• Operation of various machinery and equipment, including forklifts, hand tools, conveyors, etc.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Use maintenance software (CMMS) to complete work orders, report hours and issues.

• SCHEDULE:
  • Training: 1st shift (6:30am – 3:00pm) up to 6 months

What you’ll do

As aJourneyman Maintenance Technician, you’ll be at the heart of operations - right on the floor where materials take shape.

Your day-to-day:

Your strengths as a Journeyman Maintenance Technician

• Journeyman Millwright/Mechanic certificate required
• Extensive work history in manufacturing or industrial environment is ideal
• Knowledge of maintenance mechanic skills, including, but not limited to: pipe fitting, welding, mechanics, rigging, motors, machinery, vibration analysis, etc.
• Strong computer skills
• Understand the importance of safety, teamwork, good attendance and production demands
• Able to work with heights and with different powered equipment
• High school diploma/GED is required
