Job summary

Maine Course Hospitality Group in Albany, NY is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician (Afternoons and Evenings) to support daily hotel operations by performing repairs and preventive maintenance, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are in excellent working order.

You will troubleshoot HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, document work, and coordinate with the General Manager to prioritize tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or facilities operations preferred (hotel experience a plus).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage time, and prioritize tasks.
• Guest-focused mindset and good communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily general maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Complete routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, equipment, and appliances.
• Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance requests and guest service needs; maintain property safety by inspecting and repairing locks, doors, alarms, lighting, and other safety systems.
• Assist with pool/spa operations (if applicable), including chemical testing and equipment maintenance.
• Support cleanliness and upkeep of building exteriors, grounds, and hotel equipment.
• Coordinate repairs with General Manager and department leaders; prioritize tasks.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of completed work.
• Monitor supply inventory and communicate needs for tools, parts, or equipment.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and all local/state regulations.

• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks
• Strong communication skills and a guest‑focused mindset
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor as needed
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including some weekends or evenings
• EPA or other maintenance certifications are a plus but not required
