Job summary

Vantage Oleochemicals, Inc in Chicago, IL seeks a Maintenance Technician to support mechanical, electrical and instrumentation work. You will perform preventive maintenance, and respond to emergencies to keep production running smoothly.

The role requires reading manuals and work orders, and complying with OSHA safety rules. Candidates should have 3–5 years in a manufacturing maintenance environment, a high school diploma or GED, plus relevant licenses/certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• City of Chicago Electricians license and trade school certificate preferred.
• 3-5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.Ability to pass third party trade tests as required.

Responsibilities

• Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant equipment during production.
• Performs scheduled maintenance repairs and routine preventive maintenance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation systems and repair faults.
• Read and interpret manuals and work orders; follow safety rules (OSHA).
• Install, tune and certify plant instruments; operate lifts and forklift as needed.

## Maintenance TechnicianApply: Chicago, IL: Full time: Posted 2 Days Ago: R-2302**Position Title:** Maintenance Technician**Position Summary*** Provide repair and maintenance support in the mechanical, electrical and instrumentation areas of the facility.* Perform preventive maintenance service.* undefined **Position Scope*** Scope is specific to Chicago Oleo Plant**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** * Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant wide equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.* Performs mechanical skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of plant wide equipment.* Reads and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.* Comply with OSHA safety and health rules.* Repair and maintain mechanical electrical and instrumentation equipment in the facility as directed by supervisor.* Perform routine preventative maintenance on various equipment.* Use hand and power tools as required to perform routine equipment maintenance functions.* Use powered Man lifts (Eg JLG’s) and Scissor lifts to gain safe access to equipment.* Transport and lift equipment using forklift trucks and other specialist equipment.* Certify plant instruments following established ISO guidelines.* Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/instrumentation problems, diagnose faults and carry out repairs.* Always follow all safety procedures.* Install new equipment as required.* Maintain and upgrade plant facilities as required.* Desire to train and increase skill levels in other areas from core skill eg.
