Job summary

Ludwig and Company in Illinois is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support our 72-unit and 154-unit communities in Chicago, IL. The role covers routine repairs, preventive maintenance, and make-ready tasks to keep properties in top condition.

You will inspect electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and interior systems, document work orders, and provide excellent resident service while participating in on-call rotation as required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders.
• Make-ready repairs and services completed correctly and on schedule.
• Assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and interiors.
• Perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and drywall repairs and snow removal.
• Conduct rounds to ensure systems function and buildings remain in good condition.
• Maintain records for preventive maintenance, repairs, work orders, and status checks.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
• All other duties as assigned.
• On-call rotation required.

Ludwig and Company, an Illinois property management firm with properties located throughout the Midwest is seeking to fill 1 Maintenance Technician position. The position will be assigned to our 72 unit apartment community located in Chicago, IL and our 154 unit apartment community located in Chicago, IL.

The maintenance tech is responsible for timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work order throughout the community.

• Timely completion of routine repairs, maintenance requests, and work orders throughout the community.
• Ensures all make-ready repairs and services are completed correctly and on schedule.
• Assess and repair issues including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and interiors. Must be able to perform plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and dry wall repairs and snow removal.
• Performs preventative maintenance tasks as assigned.
• Conduct interior and exterior rounds to ensure proper functioning of systems and equipment, structure integrity of buildings, condition of grounds, etc.
• Maintain accurate records regarding preventative maintenance, repairs, work orders, work-in- progress, apartment make-ready status, etc.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and staff.
• All other duties as assigned.
• On call rotation required

Requirements

• High school Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Trade school certificate(s) in electrical, plumbing, maintenance preferred.
• Solid knowledge of general maintenance and repairs. Experience in HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, electrical, painting, carpentry, dry wall.
• Excellent customer service and effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
• Valid Driver License.
