Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support night-shift operations, diagnosing blown film extruders, AC/DC drives, PID loops, and drive systems. The role emphasizes proactive troubleshooting, fabrication, and PLC-based diagnostics to minimize downtime and enhance safety.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance or a similar role.
• Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environments preferred.
• Night-shift maintenance experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on extrusion equipment and plant systems.
• Troubleshoot AC/DC motors, drives, VFDs, and PLCs; interpret electrical schematics and diagrams.
• Repair gearboxes, bearings, couplings, and drive systems; align rotating equipment.

What You'll Do

• Keep critical machinery running by performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on blown film extruders and supporting plant systems.
• Troubleshoot complex issues involving AC/DC motors, VFDs, heater bands, PID loops, hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, B&R).
• Rebuild and align mechanical systems, including gearboxes, bearings, and drive couplings.
• Execute fabrication and welding repairs using MIG, TIG, or Stick methods as needed.
• Rapidly respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime while strictly following safety and lockout/tagout protocols.

salary: $59,000 - $68,000 per year

Responsibilities

Maintenance Equipment & Operations

• Troubleshoot and repair blown film extruders and auxiliary equipment.
• Diagnose AC/DC motors, drives, VFDs, heater bands, thermocouples, temperature controllers, and PID loops.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC-based systems, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, B&R, and similar platforms.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems supporting extrusion operations.

Mechanical & Fabrication Tasks

• Maintain and rebuild gearboxes, bearings, motors, couplings, and drive systems.
• Perform precision alignment of motors and rotating equipment.
• Perform welding and fabrication repairs using MIG, TIG, or Stick methods as needed.

General Upkeep & Reliability

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Document maintenance activities and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime.
• Follow all safety, quality, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures.

The essential functions of this role include
