This role demands hands-on heavy manufacturing experience and the ability to perform under challenging conditions. Responsibilities include installing, diagnosing, and repairing machines, leading preventative maintenance, and ensuring safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in maintenance within heavy manufacturing.

Job description

Manufacturing Maintenance Technician (Days & Nights)

Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production and plant equipment in a high-speed, continuous production environment. This role requires hands-on experience in heavy manufacturing and the ability to work effectively in a challenging, industrial setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, diagnose, and repair machines to ensure optimal performance and uptime
  • Test and troubleshoot electrical systems (minimum 480V); adjust or replace components as needed
  • Install motors, heating systems, and various electrical control equipment
  • Lead preventative maintenance tasks and project execution
  • Operate forklifts, man lifts, and work safely at heights
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with safety protocols
  • Perform general building and grounds maintenance
  • Follow all safety and environmental regulations

Environment & Work Conditions:

  • This is a heavy manufacturing role—residential, strictly automation, or strictly installation experience is not applicable
  • Work is performed both indoors and outdoors, including exposure to extreme heat, cold, moisture, chemicals, fumes, and moving machinery
  • Must be comfortable operating in a difficult environment around chemicals and in variable weather conditions
  • Requires regular lifting (up to 75 lbs), navigating uneven terrain, and working in elevated positions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with galvanizing or metal processing operations
  • Familiarity with 3-phase motors, air compressors, and overhead cranes
  • Minimum of 1 year of overhead crane operation experience
  • Previous shift work experience, including 12-hour rotating shifts (7 AM – 7 PM or 7 PM – 7 AM)
