Job summary

White Lodging is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for the 3rd shift (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) at our Charlotte, NC properties. You will support the hotel’s engineering team to maintain appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards.

You will perform carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general maintenance tasks, operate hand and power tools, and assist in overseeing engineering operations.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of maintenance experience.
• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties.
• Desire to develop in electrical or carpentry trades.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hotel's maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Clean all engineering areas as directed, maintaining neat and efficient operations.
• Complete all work safely and professionally, communicating with supervisors about tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain spare parts and bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As a General Maintenance Technician, you will support the hotel's engineering team in maintaining the property's appearance, functionality, and safety to meet White Lodging, Brand, and Guest standards.

Responsibilities:

Please note we are hiring this as a 3rd shift position with shifts from 11pm to 7:30 am, currently with Sunday and Monday nights off.

What You'll Do

• Ensure the hotel's maintenance and upkeep standards meet WL, Brand, and Guest standards.
• Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing and supervising all aspects of the Engineering function of the hotel.
• Clean all engineering areas as directed, working in a neat and efficient manner to help maintain effective operations.
• Complete all work assigned in a safe and professional manner while maintaining communication with supervisors regarding tools, supplies, and materials.
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signs for proper operation and maintain an adequate supply of spare parts and light bulbs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• Ability to perform general carpentry, plumbing, and painting duties and operate hand and power tools.
• Basic working knowledge of general maintenance with a desire to continue developing in a trade area (e.g., electrical, carpentry).
• Ability to lift, carry, or move up to 10 lbs. regularly and 25 lbs. occasionally, and ability to stand and move for long periods of time.
• At least one year of maintenance experience required.
