Job summary

Maine Course Hospitality Group in Burlington, VT is seeking a reliable maintenance technician to perform daily repairs in guest rooms and public areas, and handle preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and equipment to ensure safety and quality. You will respond quickly to requests, keep logs, manage inventory, and coordinate with the General Manager to prioritize tasks.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work a flex schedule, including some weekends/evenings.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance, building operations, or facilities preferred (hotel exp a plus).
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of issues.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
• Strong communication skills and a guest-focused mindset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physical labor.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily general maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
• Complete routine preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, equipment, and appliances.
• Respond quickly and professionally to maintenance requests and guest service needs.
• Maintain property safety by inspecting and repairing locks, doors, alarms, lighting, and other safety systems.
• Assist with pool/spa operations (if applicable), including chemical testing and equipment maintenance.
• Support cleanliness and upkeep of building exteriors, grounds, and hotel equipment.
• Work closely with the General Manager and department leaders to coordinate repairs and prioritize tasks.
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation of completed work.
• Monitor supply inventory and communicate needs for tools, parts, or equipment.
• Ensure compliance with brand standards, safety protocols, and all local/state regulations.
