Job summary

VT Industries, Inc. seeks a Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot and repair production equipment across electrical, PLC/Control, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and plumbing systems.

You will perform daily inspections, write work orders, and coordinate part orders while communicating with operators and supervisors. The role requires 5+ years of manufacturing maintenance experience, 2+ years on mechanical/electrical equipment, knowledge of electrical circuits, ability to work overtime and

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance technician experience in a manufacturing environment or similar position.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working on mechanical and/or electrical equipment (installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting).
  • Understanding of electrical circuits and pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Will need to be able to work over-time as required.
  • Be dependable with a commitment to attendance and punctuality.
  • Be able to work well with others in a fast-paced environment including weekends (if necessary).
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • PLC & Welding skills a plus.
  • Experience on PLC and electrical circuitry troubleshooting.
  • Experience with VFD’s and Servo Motor Drives.

Responsibilities

  • Trouble-shoot problems / breakdowns on production equipment and perform proper repairs.
  • Complete daily inspections on equipment, write work orders, locate parts, and submit POs.
  • Communicate with operators and supervisors about machine problems and actions.
  • Work on assigned work orders, prep work, locate and order parts.
  • Understand computers and document editing (Word/Text/Excel).
  • Complete Daily Walkthrough/Breakdown/Work Order paperwork daily.
  • Follow VT safety policies including LOTO and restricted spaces.
  • Participate in daily team meetings.

Job description

  • Starting at $21/hr + Depending on Experience!
  • $1,500 Referral Program

The Maintenance Technician troubleshoots problems/breakdowns on production equipment making proper repairs as necessary. Repairs include but are not limited to: electrical, PLC/Control System, Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Plumbing/building. Essential responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Trouble-shoot problems / breakdowns on production equipment making proper repairs as necessary.
  • These repairs and troubleshooting include but are not limited to:
    • Electrical
    • PLC / Control System
    • Mechanical
    • Hydraulic
    • Pneumatic
    • Plumbing / Building
  • Complete daily inspections (DW’s) on equipment in area, making immediate repairs if necessary, writing work orders, locating parts, submitting PO’s if needed.
  • Communicate with production operators, supervisors about machine problems and taking necessary actions address.
  • Work on assigned work orders, doing prep work, locating parts, ordering parts.
  • Understanding of computers, navigation, Word/Text/XL document editing. File handling.
  • Must complete Daily Walkthrough/Breakdown/Work Order paperwork in a timely fashion every day.
  • Must communicate with other team members via written pass downs at the end of each shift.
  • Follow all VT safety policies and practices including LOTO and Restricted Space Troubleshooting procedures.
  • Become arc flash certified through VT’s LMS and TPC training programs.
  • Participate in daily team meetings.
  • Must be proficient in the use of shop equipment and hand tools.
  • Must be able to work from ladders or elevated work surfaces while wearing a safety harness.
  • May be required to perform Preventative Maintenance on equipment in the area.
  • Will need to be able to work with production on arranging time to work on or PM equipment.
  • Will need to be able to assist in other areas if help is needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Normal working hours are Monday 4:30am-4pm and Tuesday through Thursday 5:30AM-4pm with Fridays and weekends only if required.

Physical Requirements

Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Maintain body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slipper, or erratically moving surfaces. Bend body downward and forward by bending at the waist. Stand and walk for extended periods of time. Push, pull, lift, and grasp, exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently. Must have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment. Subject to indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including extreme cold and extreme heat on occasion.
