Job summary

Prizer-Painter Stove Works, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our metal fabrication equipment running safely and efficiently, with a focus on fiber/CO₂ laser cutting systems, CNC press brakes, and related manufacturing machinery.

You’ll perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues, and partner with production to minimize downtime and improve reliability through documented actions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), hydraulics, and pneumatics skills.
• Experience on fiber/CO₂ laser cutting systems—optics care, assist gas, chiller, alignment.
• Experience on CNC press brakes—back gauge, ram alignment, tonnage systems, safety devices.
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
• Proficient with CMMS entries, emails, and documentation.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain forklift/manlift certification (company-provided).
• High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or associate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quick root-cause analysis on unplanned downtime; implement effective corrective actions.

Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Technician to keep our metal fabrication equipment running safely and efficiently—especially fiber/CO₂ laser cutting systems, CNC press brakes, and supporting manufacturing machinery. You’ll perform preventive and predictive maintenance, troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues, and partner with production to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues on lasers, press brakes, shears, saws, CNC equipment, conveyors, compressors, and facility systems.
• Perform quick root-cause analysis on unplanned downtime; implement effective corrective actions.
• Support basic PLC/HMI fault finding (I/O checks, sensor verification, parameter review).

Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Execute PMs per schedule using CMMS (lubrication, alignment, filter/exhaust changes, calibration checks, coolant/assist gas systems, optics cleaning/alignment for lasers).
• Monitor and maintain hydraulic fluids, pneumatics (FRLs), coolant/chiller, and dust/fume extraction systems.
• Perform thermography/vibration/ultrasound checks where applicable and document conditions.
• Assist with equipment installations, relocations, and commissioning (electrical drops, rigging support, leveling, alignment).
• Fabricate/modify guards, brackets, and fixtures; light welding and machining as needed.
• Recommend reliability improvements and spare-parts standards; help optimize PM frequencies.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow LOTO, machine guarding, and NFPA 70E electrical safety practices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts usage, and compliance records.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; support 5S and safety audits.
• Work with operators to understand symptoms; train on basic care and daily checks.
• Communicate status, ETAs, and risks to supervisors and production leads.
• Coordinate with OEMs/vendors for complex repairs and parts identification.

Education and Qualifications:

• 3+ years in industrial maintenance (manufacturing environment).
• Strong skills in mechanical, electrical (up to 480V), hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Experience on laser cutting systems (fiber/CO₂)—optics care, assist gas, chiller, alignment, beam delivery—or strong aptitude to learn.
• Experience on CNC press brakes—back gauge, ram alignment, tonnage systems, and safety devices (e.g., light curtains).
• Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and pneumatic/hydraulic diagrams.
• Proficient with multimeter, megger/insulation testing, precision measurement tools, and hand/power tools.
• Competent computer skills for CMMS entries, emails, and documentation.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain forklift/manlift certification (company-provided).
• High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or associate degree preferred.

Preferred Skills:

• Basic PLC troubleshooting (Siemens/Rockwell), VFD drives, servo systems.
• Press brake brands (e.g., Amada, Bystronic, Trumpf, Cincinnati, Accurpress) and controls familiarity.
• Welding (MIG/TIG), machining, or precision alignment skills.
• Experience with TPM/5S, root-cause tools (5-Why, Fishbone), and reliability programs.
