Job summary

Aerotek is hiring a Maintenance Technician for the Belvidere, IL facility. This 3rd shift role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing and facility equipment to minimize downtime.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshoot electrical systems, and fabricate or install machine parts as needed. The position requires reading blueprints, operating shop tools, and documenting repairs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or relevant experience.
  • 1-2 years of prior maintenance mechanic experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use and understand various precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to rebuild equipment to OEM specifications.
  • Forklift certification capability.
  • Ability to work independently and stay on assigned tasks.
  • Proficiency in entering required information into a computerized tracking system.

  • Install, maintain, and repair facility-related equipment, including access control systems, fire alarm systems, and gas generator systems.
  • Complete preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on various types of equipment.
  • Safely troubleshoot and perform basic electrical repairs.
  • Operate and maintain machine shop equipment, hand tools, measuring, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Document completed repairs.
  • Fabricate, rebuild, design, and install machine parts.
  • Handle mechanical installation and troubleshooting of oil lubrication, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, including piping.
  • Maintain compressed air and drying equipment.
  • Install and troubleshoot electrical motors and controls.
  • Construct electrical control panels from various schematics.
  • Implement ways to reduce costs, increase productivity, and eliminate waste.
  • Identify, requisition, and track supplies required to complete assignments.
  • Follow safe working practices and procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in supporting operations by installing, maintaining, and repairing manufacturing equipment. This position focuses on minimizing manufacturing machine downtime through corrective and preventive maintenance. This is a 3rd shift position.

Responsibilities

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
