Job summary

Batavia Container seeks an electro-mechanic to join its manufacturing maintenance team. You will perform testing, troubleshooting, installation and preventive maintenance of electrical equipment across the facility.

The role requires 2+ years of electro-mechanic experience, strong schematic reading, and PLC hardware/software knowledge. A safe, team-focused candidate with flexibility for 24-hour operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of electro-mechanic experience in manufacturing required.
• Ability to read schematics and blueprints is essential.
• Experience with PLC hardware and software a must.

Responsibilities

• Verify and maintain housekeeping to ensure a safe work environment.
• Maintain documentation for machine and facility service and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install and maintain electrical equipment (440V–24V).
• Engage in preventative maintenance across the facility.
• Work with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot problems.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Verify and maintain good housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.Adhere to required and defined safety policies and procedures including food safety programs, OSHA regulations and PPE requirements.Other duties as assigned.QualityObtain and maintain complete, proper, and up-to-date documentation for machine and facility service, maintenance, and preventative maintenance.Maintain and purchase adequate inventory of required spare parts, materials, and equipment for preventative and corrective maintenance.Delivery - Inspect, test, troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain electrical equipment:Varying voltages, including but not limited to 480v, 240v and transformed 24v power.Motors (all types), starters, breakers, transformers, isolation switches, relays, fuses, resistors, air conditioning, valves, AC Drives, and DC Drives.Implement all maintenance projects and machinery installations.Engage in preventative maintenance processes throughout facility.Customer ServiceWork positively with maintenance and operations teams to troubleshoot and solve problems.Excellent teamwork, cooperation, and problem-solving skills.Required Qualifications2+ years of electro-mechanic experience within a manufacturing environment.Strong proficiency in reading schematics and blueprints.Demonstrated experience with:PLC Hardware and SoftwareElectrical panel and drive componentsA/C and D/C motorsGear trains, shafts/journals, pulleys, bushings, and bearings.High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred QualificationsCustomer service driven and focused.Self-starter with ambition to take on additional responsibilities.Maintain flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations.Develop corrugated industry knowledge.Competent in Microsoft Office applications.Conditions: Heavy lifting, occasional fork-lift operation, electrical and mechanical work with various tools.
